Moses Basket Ethel Donation

Feb 8, 2019

The Charity League of Paducah recently presented a $5,000 donation to Moses Basket from its Ethel Dubois Smith Trust Account.

The donation to Moses Basket will help support its new voucher program for car seats, cribs, crib mattresses, and booster seats. The Moses Basket is a non‐profit that assists foster and relative care families in Western Kentucky. Their primary goal is to make the transition for these children and families a bit easier by meeting material and financial needs during the immediate placement period. They deliver clothing, gear, and supplies to the receiving family, as well as a basket tailored to each child with comfort items and toys to help ease the transition into a new home.

In recent years, the Charity League’s giving opportunities have expanded, as the group has become the beneficiary of funds from former member Ethel Dubois Smith. The additional funding allows the League to further assist community needs in line with the Charity League’s mission of assisting Easter Seals West Kentucky and other local non-profits that support the health, welfare and general care of women and children.

Other local non-profits receiving Charity League Ethel Fund donations in 2018 include: Lotus, Family Service Society, and Night to Shine at Heartland Church. Donations were made in memory of Ethel Dubois Smith.
